Don't deny yourself the simple pleasures in life
Do - go out and see people, take a walk, have that glass of wine. If you have a happy brain, your writing will reflect that.
Don't write in isolation
Do - reach out to the writing community, ask for advice, offer advice.
Don't settle for the first publishing offer that comes your way (unless it's a really good one)
Do - your research, keep your options open, take your time, consider all scenarios.
Get off your own back
Do - yourself a favour and pat yourself on the back. You're doing great.
Be brave
Do - send your drafts to people you think will help. Get your name out there as soon as you can.
Don't take too seriously the quote 'if it's too good to be true, it usually is.'
Do - think positively . Sometimes great offers are presented to you and good things happen to good people.
